Chainlink chose to implement the only native real-time oracle on MegaETH, driving the birth of the next generation of high-frequency DeFi applications

2025—Chainlink and MegaETH today announced the deployment of the first real-time, on-chain data streaming oracle on MegaETH, an unprecedented protocol-level implementation that delivers Chainlink's trusted market data to the blockchain with sub-millisecond latency.
This integration integrates Chainlink data streams directly within MegaETH's execution environment through native pre-compilation, enabling any smart contract to seamlessly access real-time, high-frequency market data. The result is a new foundation for real-time DeFi, enabling applications such as perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and stablecoins to achieve responsiveness and precision comparable to centralized exchanges (CEXs) while maintaining full on-chain composability.
integration of Chainlink data streams at the protocol layer provides developers with low-latency, efficient on-chain market data, which is the infrastructure needed to build the next generation of real-time decentralized finance applications," said Lei, co-founder and CTO of Megaeth.
Why It Matters
This integration introduces a fresh oracle model that combines the simplicity of traditional on-chain oracles with the immediacy of data flow.
Low Latency at the Protocol Layer: Chainlink data streams are instantly refreshed when accessed by contracts, eliminating latency mismatches and redundant updates.
Zero integration overhead: Any smart contract can read real-time market data directly from the precompilation, eliminating the need to build custom off-chain logic.
Future-Proof Data Catalog: Chainlink's extensive network supports a wide range of asset classes, including crypto assets, equity, commodities, and real-world assets (RWAs). This will enable the scalability of high-performance Defi.
The initial deployment focuses on high-frequency crypto assets, establishing a new standard of low latency for on-chain price discovery.
When oracle latency drops to single-digit milliseconds and data quality meets institutional benchmarks, DeFi achieves peering with centralized trading infrastructure, enabling real-time settlements, precise funding rates, and continuously updated derivatives, all secured by Ethereum.
Why Choose Chainlink
Chainlink is the largest and most trusted data provider in the crypto space. Chainlink oracles have supported over $25 trillion in transaction volume, secured over $100 billion in total locked-up volume, and have verified over 18 billion cross-chain messages.
Chainlink Data Stream is Chainlink's low-latency oracle solution built for applications that require high-frequency market data. The data flow is powered by Chainlink's robust Decentralized Oracle Network (DON), where independent nodes aggregate, verify, and sign each data report before transmission. This mode ensures data integrity while maintaining real-time updates.
With low-latency, natively accessing Chainlink's data catalog (covering crypto, equity, commodities, etc.), protocols on MegaETH will gain infrastructure that surpasses the level of delayed execution of centralized finance.
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform that brings capital markets on-chain and supports much of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink technology stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to drive advanced blockchain use cases, including institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since the invention of the decentralized oracle network, Chainlink has achieved tens of trillions of dollars in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.
About MegaETH
MegaETH is the first real-time blockchain, secured by Ethereum and powered by an ultra-optimized execution environment and heterogeneous architecture. It achieves 10ms block times and streaming throughput of up to 100,000 TPS. Developers can extend applications with real-time state streams, allowing users to get instant transactions while fully preserving Ethereum's composability.
