Why We’re Launching OKX Earn in Europe — and What it Means for our Customers

Many European customers are sitting on idle assets, particularly stablecoins, with fewer options to put them to work. Several platforms have scaled back or removed reward products entirely in order to adapt to the new regulatory environment. What I’ve consistently heard from our customers is simple: they want flexible ways to use their crypto, without relying on opaque structures or rigid lock-up terms.
That’s exactly why we’re launching OKX Earn across Europe.
A Product Built for the New European Reality
At OKX, we don’t see regulation as a constraint — we see it as a design requirement. OKX Earn was built specifically with Europe in mind, offering a secure and flexible way for customers to earn yield on idle crypto assets such as USDC, BTC, SOL, and ETH. For USDC, OKX Earn has delivered an average historical annualised yield of around 3.5%, based on real market demand.*
This is not about promotional rewards or short-term incentives. It’s about building something sustainable, transparent, and aligned with how markets actually work.
Where the Yield Comes From
One of the most important things we focus on at OKX is clarity.
OKX Earn provides liquidity for Spot Margin trading on OKX, enabling active traders on a regulated exchange to access the assets they need to open and manage positions. When customers choose to place their idle assets into OKX Earn, those assets are matched with vetted borrowers. Traders pay to borrow this liquidity in real time, and that demand-driven mechanism is what generates yield for participants.
In other words, OKX Earn connects long-term holders with active market participants — and we manage the matching, collateralisation, and risk controls in between.
What Makes Crypto Rewards Different
From a product perspective, we’ve focused on three principles: flexibility, transparency, and access.
Hourly yield accrual Yield accumulates every hour, reflecting real-time market conditions rather than fixed promotional schedules.
No lock-ups, full liquidity Assets can be redeemed instantly. There are no fixed terms or waiting periods, which means users stay in control of their capital at all times.
Transparent, regulated environment OKX Earn is built on a clear supply-and-demand lending model, with strict collateral requirements and risk management standards for borrowers.
Support for major assets Customers can participate using assets they already hold, including USDC, BTC, and ETH.
Designed for Both Experienced and New Customers
For customers transitioning from platforms that have reduced yield offerings in Europe, OKX Earn will feel familiar — but more flexible. For newer crypto holders, it’s a straightforward way to avoid leaving assets idle without navigating complex DeFi protocols or committing to long-term lock-ups.
This is part of a broader product direction at OKX: building tools that work equally well for experienced traders and long-term holders, while meeting the highest regulatory standards in every market we operate in.
What’s Next
OKX Earn is now live for eligible European customers on the OKX platform. Activation takes just a few clicks, and customers can start earning hourly rewards immediately while maintaining full access to their assets.
This launch is another step in our ongoing investment in Europe — not just in compliance, but in building products that genuinely improve the user experience. And it certainly won’t be the last.
